Comments:
I've received one absolutely glowing report of success with a Crystal Lake 140 under OS/2. The person giving the report said that driver installation was easier than with a SoundBlaster AWE32 and that sound quality was superior. The main down points seem to be a lack of volume control for wavetable MIDI (this is a common limitation of IBM's MPU-401 driver, which may provide the MIDI side for this board) and lack of access to the advanced SRS features of the board from OS/2. Unfortunately, Crystal Lake seems to have gone out of business, though it's possible others are selling this design now (see Timur Tabi's CS advocacy page for more information).
